The University of Teesside’s Department of Academic Enterprise is delivering a series of workshops that are aimed at existing businesses and budding entrepreneurs alike:

Title: Finance – A Business Overview
Date: Wednesday 5th November
Time: 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Venue: Centre for Enterprise, University of Teesside

Delivered by business expert David Skipsey, this workshop looks at how crucial business finance is to the success of any venture. It will particularly focus on areas such as understanding profit and loss, the difference between profit and cash, how to manage cash flow and control of costs, which are all crucial to a start up venture. This practical workshop will provide the attendee with everything they will need to know about managing their finances in a way that will allow their ventures to grow and succeed.

Establishing a Business – Writing a Really Good Business Plan
Date: Wednesday 5th November
Time: Time: 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Venue: Victoria Building Board Room, University of Teesside

Want to know how to put together a simple, yet effective business plan – one that clarifies your ideas and opens the door to potential funders or investors? Delivered by Richard Hanage, this workshop will look at the things that turns on investors and the things that don’t. It will help the attendee put together a business plan that will convince themselves and others that their business will work.

Date: Wednesday 12th November
Time: 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Venue: Victoria Building Board Room, University of Teesside

Delivered by Matthew Rippon of Blackett, Hart & Pratt, this workshop will focus on essential staffing and recruitment issues. It will take place in the format of a presentation followed by a Q & A. Matthew will then be offering one-to-one surgery sessions for those wanting to discuss individual issues. These sessions must be requested when registering.
