on 29 & 30 May (11am – 11pm).
Admission FREE and OPEN TO ALL.

Taking as its theme The Future Of Film In A Digital Age, the London Film Makers Convention 2010 will screen over 150 new films from London film makers hot off the edit suite over two whole days at The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm, defining the state of the art in independent film. Featuring dramas (including Eve starring Jamie Winstone), documentaries on subjects as diverse as Civil Liberties and Don Letts, comedies, art, animation and horror – the screenings will run nonstop in the Roundhouse Cafe from 11am to 11pm and from 6pm to 10.30pm in the Roundhouse Cinema.

Entry to all screenings is free and open to all.

In the Roundhouse Cinema from 12am to 6pm the Convention presents two afternoons of workshops and Q&As: featuring cult actress Jenny Runacre on her experiences of acting for Pasolini, Antonioni, Cassavetes, and Jarman; Courttia Newland on scriptwriting; successful indie directors Teddy Nygh, Sasha Damjanovski, and Greg Hall on getting low budget work sold in shops, distributed over the internet, and screened in cinemas and on TV; Chris Jones, author of The Guerilla Film Makers Handbook; Nag Vladermerski, director London International Animation Film Festival; and Julien Temple, showing his new Paul Weller film, Find The Torch, and discussing Rock and Roll Cinema.
Free Delegate Accreditation giving priority to the workshops will be available at The Roundhouse on the days or by emailing Jonathan and Leona on pff@btopenworld.com . London production companies are urged to make contact ASAP to ensure Accreditation.
The London Film Makers Convention is supported by the European Regional Development Fund, Creative Futures, Time Out, The Roundhouse and The Portobello Film Festival.
Portobello Film Festival believe the future of film lies in digital technology making film production and distribution economically possible to all, without having to compromise work through working in the stranglehold monopoly of corporate culture.
